LinkedIn Post Gate

Pre publish gate for LinkedIn posts. 7 gates: hook, about them, specificity, save trigger, one job, voice, litmus. Pass or fail. One specific fix if you fail.

What it does

Most LinkedIn posts fail one of seven tests. Reps post anyway. Then wonder why the algorithm hates them.

Drop your post in. The gate runs all 7 checks: does the hook stop the scroll, is it about them not you, is it specific enough to feel real, does it earn a save, does it do exactly one job, does it sound like you, does it pass the litmus test. Each gate returns pass or fail. If you fail one, you get the specific line that's broken and the exact fix.

The point isn't to game the algorithm. It's to stop publishing posts that embarrass you.

What's inside

  • The pre-flight check — Have you already posted today? If yes, bank the draft. No exceptions.
  • Gate 1 — Hook Test — First 1-2 lines pass James Smith's 3 tests (Elevator, Street, Browse)
  • Gate 2 — About Them Test — Every line is about the reader, not the writer
  • Gate 3 — Specificity Test — Real numbers, real names, real moments
  • Gate 4 — Save Trigger Test — Saves are weighted 10-20x more than likes by the algorithm. Is there anything worth saving here?
  • Gate 5 — One Job Test — Teach OR story OR CTA. Pick one.
  • Gate 6 — Voice Test — Sounds like a text to a friend, not a corporate blog post
  • Gate 7 — Litmus Test — Would a real human in your audience read it, save it, comment, click your profile?
